On the Danger of Swimmer’s Ear

Swimmer’s ear, referred to by medical practitioners as otitis externa, is a deleterious condition that affects the outer ear. Symptoms of swimmer’s ear include painful irritation, fever, swollen lymph nodes, and in the worst cases, hearing loss. However, the latter should only be expected if the condition remains untreated. Usually, the infection necessitates a significant amount of time in the pool, hence the name, “swimmer’s ear.”
